First project of the semester!

HAGA Project: Word It

Description

Every month, the website www.underconsideration.com posts a new word or phrase and then challenges artists to create something based on the word. The object is to try and describe the meaning of the word or phrase through any sort of visual means you want.

Unfortunately, the website is discontinuing this tradition this month (we’re just in time), which is why the phrase for February is…“The End.”

Specifications

You can use any medium for this project, but it must be able to be converted into a digital JPEG file so it can be uploaded to their website (if you wish to do something three dimensional, you could take a photo of your work and upload it.)

The final dimensions of the project must by 5 by 5 inches.

Resolution must be set to 300 DPI.

Your digital file must be in RGB color mode.

Do not do any sort of self promotion in your work (no logos, names, or web addresses can be included in your work unless they are clearly an integral part of the artwork).

Submissions

Your work will be displayed on their website once it is submitted! You can submit your work here:

http://www.underconsideration.com/wordit/submission-form/

Art of Healing!

November 30th was the night of Art of Healing and HAGA was there!

This year's Art of Healing was PSU's 3rd annual multimedia benefit show, and this year, it was the kick-off to AIDS awareness week! All the proceeds from the show went towards Save the Children.

Anyway, during intermission, people who went to the event could go downstairs to check out the art made by students and go to the booths where you could buy bags and T-shirts (and those profits would also go to non-profit orgs).

Well, HAGA was there, and HAGA art took up one WHOLE display case! The members in the picture are (right to left) Shea Molloy, Nadir Khan, Emily Miethner, Desiree O'Kane, Scarlett Hubbard, Miles Zinni, and Carmen Lew, and all of them had art in the case! (not pictured, Jenny Hart and Brendan Bailey)

It went *AMAZINGLY*! Oh, and the picture was shamelessly stolen from Scarlett's Facebook :)
